Cost: £125 per half-day/ £200 per full day session for a minimum of half a term. To include initial planning session with EKO leader, risk assessment and snacks but resources are in addition.

These sessions run in half-termly blocks of usually 5 or 6 weekly sessions that take place on your school site. If you are a 2 or 3 form entry school we could run back to back sessions for each class in one day, and possibly offer a discount.

The sessions are planned, resourced, risk assessed and led by an EKO leader with the support of the class teacher and/or TA and can be as closely linked to the curriculum as required. We will discuss the term’s planning with the class teacher and plan the sessions around the requested themes in order to support, apply and imbed the learning going on in the classroom.

The sessions can be used (and funded) as PPA time or as an outdoor learning team teaching opportunity across the school to imbed outdoor learning and the benefits it offers.

Risk Assessments are prepared in advance by EKO and copies given to the school. All EKO leaders are DBS checked and have current paediatric outdoor first aid certificates.

Sessions could focus on literacy and link to a book being read in class, on maths with some practical challenges to design and create, on numeracy with counting and sorting, on art using natural resources or music creating sounds with what you find around you, we could link it to nature study with animal and plant identification, life cycles, bushcraft survival activities, water usage, team challenges and other seasonal and location dependant activities.

All children need to provide their own weather appropriate, waterproof clothing and footwear but we always bring a few spares, just in case.
