Having recently become a registered charity EKO has been able to secure funding through Shropshire council for the Holiday Activities Food Programme (HAF). HAF is a government initiative set up to provide support during the school holidays for families who have children eligible for benefits related free school meals. This Easter EKO is delighted to be running its first HAF EKO Holiday club.
Each day will be different but will follow a similar pattern of learning, exploring, creating and playing outdoors, ending with a nutritious lunch cooked by the group over our campfire. Our activities will centre around healthy eating and looking at where our food comes from. There will be challenges and team work, strong friendships form and the laughter is infectious. We plan on having lots of fun!
Our EKO leaders are talented, professional, experienced and kind outdoor-loving individuals who are ambitious for your kids to give new things a go, to challenge themselves, to learn about their strengths and to develop strategies to deal with areas that they struggle with. We want them to try new things in different ways and to come out smiling, even when they make mistakes. Every day is an opportunity to make outdoor memories that stay with children for life.
Having run outdoor school sessions and holiday clubs throughout the pandemic we are familiar with current government guidelines and are confident that we are able to provide a safe and fun environment for your children to learn new skills, have fun with friends and connect with their natural world.
Please note that places are limited to 16 children per day, your child must be eligible for free school meals, be in Year 1-6 and must attend a Shropshire school.
